This is the personal website of Ella, a British artist/poet/screenwriter/critic b.2001.

I decided to build this site using Neocities because of a commitment to challenge the transactional, consumerist and anti-artist values of Web 2.0 + to help to construct a more interesting Internet.

I was interviewed by American Vogue among other publications as the original creator of the Aesthetics Wiki. I am not involved in the running of the site now, but am still interested in the unspoken formation of Tumblr-era online aesthetics ('multimodal lifeworlds') and the way they have impacted art and music in the 2010s and beyond.

Other interests include artistic treatment of film history, psychosexuality in film, Old Hollywood persona-construction, 60s-70s filmmaking, Madonna, light-and-rhyming verse revival, historical linguistics and poetry translation from Literary Chinese. I am currently an undergrad living in Taiwan.
